Emnet Christmas Breakfast

On the 15th December our class held a brakfast in the 2nd year mall for class Amina :) me and grace wentr shopping the day before and bought all the food and the other girls brought in more food so there was plenty for everyone!! there was tea, hot chocolate, juice, toast, nutella, brioche, sweets and rice krispie buns and lots more!! everyone was dancing and whiping their hair!!! it was a great sucess and then when it was over there was so much food left over!!
During that lunch time, me aisling and hayley went around to the different lunch rooms selling some of our left over rice krispie buns and biscuits and then it was myself, katie and zoe. We asked people to make a donation of any amount whichwould be given to Mr Kerrigan to give to St.Vincent De Paul. When we counted up the money after all the food was sold it came to a total of around €65 which we were absolutley delighted with because it was unplanned to sell the food and everyone was so generous. It really shows how much we can do for others even doing small thing like selling buns and biscuits and how much people will help and we wanted to say thanks very much to all who supported us!!

Podcasting Workshop

This was a great workshop!!
Peter and Chris, from songschool.ie came in to make podcasts with us. After showing us samplees, we were split into 2 groups, where we came up with the idea for our podcast. In my group there was me, Ailbhe, Ciara, Laura, Niamh and Rachel. With the help of Ms McG, we came up with a theme of I'm A Celebrity, Get me out of here contestant Gillian. We had great fun writing the script, adding sounds and all the rest!! All our podcasts can be heard on the main page http://www.stwolstansty.blogspot.com/

Senior Camogie

Last Friday we went to Glasnevin to play Scoil Catriona. I had work experience but finished at 11 30 and headed back to school where Mr Lawlor and Mr Dooley were with the rest of the girls and we headed off to Glasnevin. We were really early for the match but got a good warm up done and a puc around done. We got our positions and i was playing wing half back :) We then started the match and we were 4 points up at half time and went out in the second half and won it :)
We're now in the Senior Championship Semi-Final which won't be played till after Christmas but I'm really looking forward to it!! Lots of time for Training to be done!!

Work Experience

Overall...I found it really good!! i cannot wait for the second one :) I was exhausted after!! i worked 9 30 to 4 30 everyday but i finished at 11 30 on friday!!! good time with lots of work done and i met the nicest people who worked there!!

Day 1 Of Work Experience

Started in Carton House this morning at 9 30 :) I arrived in and met Kelly who is my supervisor for today and shes so nice :) She gave me a tour of the hotel and some of the room ands everything is HUGE! I went to a meeting with her at 10 30 where they talked issues or upcoming events in the hotel. Then we continued the tour and I'l be going for lunch soon so its a pretty easy day so far!!

Work Experience

Were heading out on work experience next week :) I can't wait for it! I'm going to Carton House Hotel in Maynooth for the week. I start at 9 and finish at 4 so its the same as a school day which is not too bad!! I'l be doing something different every day, like working in a different section of the hotel everyday! When I applied for my work experience, I had to do an interview which I was really nervous for but it wasnt that bad! I'm really looking forward to it :)

Rugby in PE :)

Every Wednesday we have double PE and for it, there is development officers that come to the school and do skills and drills with us. Our two classes, Emnet and Amina, join together and do everything all the drills and games. At the end of the class, we play a match and its a great laugh! All in all I'm really enjoying rugby and having a great time learning the new skills :)

Geography Project

Its coming to an end soon! We had to do a fact file on 2 countries, 1 from a first world and another from a second world. I choose Iceland as my first world country and East Germany as my second :) in it I have about the country like what currency they have and what languages they see. Also I did what things there are to see in the cuntry, like in Iceland I have done the Northern Lights and Dettifoss Waterfall and in East Germany I have done the Berlin Wall. Iv enjoyed doing this project and founfd it very interesting :)

English Workshop :)

Last week, 5 girls in our class went to do a workshop with Ms.G our English teacher. The next day for our double class, they came to do some of the games and activities that they did which were great craic!! We played zip,zap,boing which was really fun cause you had to be so dramatic in what you did! We did loads of other things aswell where we had to get into groups and make things like washing machines and pirate ships which was good too :)
The last thing we did was a game where we had to make a train train track and some of the girls had to make a train and then the train tracks started moving up and down and it ended in a dog pile at the end!

Fun Run

On Friday 2 weeks ago we had our friendship week fun run. We have one every year but this one had a bit of a twist :) usually we choose a theme to go with our class colour and we dress up in costumes but this year, we were given our colour (ours was yellow!) and we had to wear a t-shirt in that colour and then come up with a routine to do for the judges based on a song to do with friendship :) we chose our song as "We Got Together" from Grease and came up with a rotine which had cartweels, flippy things and dive rolls from Mr. L :) even though his wig fell off it was really good all in all :) we then headed off with some of the teachers to act as traffic wardens to the rest of the school crossing the road!! When we got back to school then we got a drink and a bar from the prefects and a bit of dancing in the courtyard before we headed home :) We didnt win but we didn't mind cause it was so much fun!!

Mini Company

We all headed to Naas with Ms.L our Mini Company teacher to the Moat Theatre for a workshop with Orla form Kildare County Enterprise. We arrived along with a load of other schools from Clane, Newbrdge and other places in Kildare. We were given a 15 minute lunch after which we were out into our groups and had to think of 50 ideas that we could use for our Mini Company products. After the workshopwe headed down to McDonalds and got lunch before we headed back to school :)
Orla came to our school yesterday to see where we are at with our ideas and what we are doing with them.

JC Results

Nerve Racking much?! We arrived in school that morning but everyone was exhausted after Carlingford! We had classes but didn't do much, no one could really concentrate! We had double PE but only had one class and we started rugby with the Development Officers from Leinster Rugby. We went back in to get changed back to uniforms and headed to the hall to get our results. Everyone started to get REALLY nervous when we lined in our classes from 3rd year to get our results! I was delighted with my results :) That night we all went out to Time Venue in Naas and had an absolutley amazing night :)
The next day we were absolutlry wrecked! We were given tea, coffee and chocolate from the prefects in the hall with our teachers and had a great lunch :)

Social Development Day :)

I missed most of the Social Development Day :( but from what I was told the morning part was just as good as the afternoon! When I arrived in, we had to do a list on how to help Santas Elves during the Christmas Rush and then headed for lunch. After lunch we talked in our groups about our posters and did facepainting and had a great time :)

Carlingford :)

Wow....what an amazing night!!!! We all came to the esso garage beside Abbey Farm at quarter to 7 on a Monday morning? Really early to say the least!!! We left the Esso at around quarter past on our Mini bus Ms.R and the girls and headed to Carlingford :)When we arrived we grabbed our bags from the bus and headed down to the centre. When we got there, we signed down our groups and went to the common room to get our room assignments. We got a room with 12 beds ( Room 21 :D) and ran to save the best bed and unpack all our food which over flowed one of the big drawers and had more in the second!!!We then headed out to start our days of activities :) we went with Ms. O'C and Sean from the centre and started all our bonding activities which got us wet and muckey but sure nobody cared :) after finding each activity with our maps we got gems depending on how long we had to complete the task. We went to put our helmets back into the "bomb shelter" where we got attacked by the other girls with muck (thanks for that girls!!) and headed back to the centre for lunch.A fter lunch we all headed back to ou rooms and got changed and headed down to do our water activities :) We all got into our wetsuits and helmets and grabbed our PAAAADEEULL and headed into our canoes Turbo, Minty and Fresh!! WE jumped into the freezing water and when we got back we got to jump of the piers :) We went back to the centre, had dinner, and headed out for our evening hike in our two groups. We were in the second group so we were the last to leave the centre. When we got back to the centre after our hike and crawling through a pitch black tunnel, the other group were no where to be found so we headed out to the chinese with Ms O'C :) When they eventually arrived back! we had free time and went to see each others rooms and food supplies ;) and a had a great midnight feast!! Everyone was exhausted but the girls wouldnt let us sleep! We were woken the next morning and headed out for morning activities, which were pretty scary from hanging of a tiny platform with 3 other girls but enjoyed by everyone :) we went back for lunch and had a game of vollyball and then headed out for orientiering!! After getting lost and attcked by rams we were pretty tired so we headed back to the centre and changed our clothes, said our goodbyes and headed back to Celbridge to get ready for JC resultss!! We had a great time and would definatly do it again!!
